Father Jim has announced his retirement, to be effective on Sunday, June 30, 2019.
Father Jim has served as the 40th Rector (priest overseeing the parish) of St. James’ Mill Creek since August, 2002. He arrived in Delaware in the summer of 2002, having moved from Colorado after serving churches in Greeley, LaVeta, and Pueblo. Prior to entering the ordained ministry in 1992, Jim worked for several different Federal agencies in Washington, D.C., and Denver and Golden, Colorado. In addition to serving the people of St. James’, he is involved in the life of the diocese having served on several leadership committees and presently as the diocesan liturgical officer. Outside of Delaware he has been on mission trips to Nicaragua in 2017 and 2018, and has also been involved in issues of peace and justice in the Holy Land, and since 2009 has made six trips to Israel. He is especially honored to be serving as president of the Board of Directors of the North American Committee for St. George’s College, Jerusalem. Jim is married and the father of five grown children.
